A Balanced and Effective Prayer Life

In my research, study and writing of the progressive book series entitled, “I Must Be About My Father’s Business”, I came to understand that the spiritual growth and maturity of a Christian revolves around three foundational biblical principles or themes: Relationship with God, Transformation of the Inner Man, and Dominion in the Harvest Field and Battlefield.
From this understanding, I felt God impressed me to write a thesis dealing with the concept that a balanced and effective prayer life will include these three foundational building blocks or “A, B, C’s” of prayer: (A) Relationship Prayer, (B) Transformation Prayer, (C) Dominion Prayer.

Isaiah’s vision and prayer recorded in Chapter 6 illustrates these three significant elements in prayer:

-
An upward focus and vision of God: “I saw the Lord high and lifted up” (need for a renewed relationship).
-
An inward focus and vision of himself: “Woe is me, I am undone, I am a man of unclean lips” (need for repentance and transformation).
-
An outward focus and vision of the world: “Who will go for us and whom shall I send?” (the call to partner with God in using our dominion role to minister to the needs of the world. May our response to God be that of Isaiah's: “Here am I; send me.”
Volume I
God's Purpose For Man
Relationship and Dominion

While God’s purpose for creating man included relationship, it was much more than that. It was to bring man into a partnership with Himself, and give him dominion to carry out His mission, will and work on earth (discussed in detail in Volume II). God’s decision to make Himself dependent upon man created a balanced relationship with God needing man and man needing God. That is an exciting concept: God needs you and me; and we desperately need Him!

This book describes the God and man relationship roles described in the Bible: Father / child; Groom / bride; Friend / friend; Master / servant (love slave). Also described in detail is the relationship of God and man sharing a mutual commitment of love, communication, and trust.

Receiving a greater understanding and revelation of God involves continuous change in our lives. In the relationship that God desires to have with us, this cycle of change should be repeated over and over again in our Christian walk. As we change and develop a deeper relationship with Him, He gives us a greater revelation of His power and glory.
Volume II
Dominion
Doing God's Will and Work

This book emphasizes the foundational concept that God works only through man to accomplish His will and work on earth. Kingdom comes from two words: king and domain -- the King's Domain. Domain is a land or territory that a King or a government rules or controls. Dominion means to dominate with authority and power -- to rule in a territory or domain. This involves God sharing His authority and power with man in a partnership to fulfill His mission, will and work on earth.
The subject of dominion discusses the mandate of Jesus Christ for us to be involved in the mission and work of the Father’s business. It includes many examples from both the Old and New Testaments regarding God working through man to accomplish His will on earth. Also described are God and man dominion roles: Great Physician / physician; Great Commander / soldier; King of Kings / king; Great High Priest / priest; Lord of the Harvest / laborer.
This volume emphasizes the importance of dominion, since we often lead people to a relationship with God, but sometimes fail to help them take the next important step -- exercising dominion in the Kingdom of God. As sons of God, we have been given dominion over Satan and sickness. The two concepts of relationship and dominion working together in a believer’s life will bring balance, spiritual growth and fulfillment.
Volume III
Transformation of the Inner Man

This book addresses what actions are required to become more effective in the Father’s business. This encompasses foundational principles of spiritual growth that will prepare individuals to be more fruitful Christians. The primary emphasis is transformation: dominion over self (the will, the mind and the emotions); less of my will and more of God's will; less of my mind and more of God's mind; less of my limited human love and more of God's agape love.
God desires for His children to grow and mature and become everything He intended them to be. He desires that we partner with Him in touching the lives of others and spreading His message of healing, deliverance, salvation, and righteousness throughout the whole earth. Our heavenly Father’s desire for us concerns impartation and engagement. Impartation is what we receive through our relationship with Him. Engagement is exercising our dominion role with our involvement in His business (the harvest field and battlefield), ministering to people in need. These two concepts, working hand in hand, bring continual spiritual growth.
Volume IV
Unlimited Partnership
With a Supernatural God

The greatest reason for God’s new creation of man (through a new birth, a spiritual birth) first recorded in the book of Acts, was that He might obtain sons to carry out the supernatural work of His Kingdom. True son-ship is an obligation to live out, or put in practice, the Father’s nature. It is the Father’s will for us, as sons of God, to become partakers of His divine nature, His supernatural nature -- partnering with Him in His business: “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature” (2 Peter 1:4). Jesus states in the gospel of John: “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works.”
If we are to move deeper into the power of the supernatural, it cannot be church and religion as usual. It cannot be routine formatted religious behavior. There must be a fading of the outer man and a shining forth of the radiance of God’s beauty and supernatural power through the inner man. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are called to a life of constant renewal, revival, change and growth as we assume more of the divine nature of our supernatural God. Anything less will not be effective in bringing deliverance, healing and salvation to our desperately lost world.
Volume V
Revival and Evangelism
Passion for God / Compassion for the Lost

Revival is the Lord working in the church; evangelism is the church working for the Lord. Revival is God pleading with Christians: “Get involved in the business of My Kingdom.” Evangelism is an awakened church pleading with sinners: “Come to Jesus Christ and be saved.”
The Power Arm of the Church: The Prayer Ministry is not a department of the church -- it is the power generator of the church. There is a law of God etched into the stone of eternity that declares that prayer stands alone at the very highest priority in God’s economy and it has no rival -- everything else pales in comparison.
The Actions Arm of the Church: The Compassion and Care Ministry (attracting, winning, retaining and making disciples) is not a department of the church -- it is the mission of the church.
The Value of an Eternal Soul: Value is determined by the price paid. Jesus paid an infinite price. Therefore, the price of one soul is infinite: “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Matt. 16:26). The most rewarding and lasting thing you will ever do is to rescue and build the eternal, priceless soul of a never dying immortal.
Volume VI
Perfect Love
The Highest Law and Strongest Force

If we had only one word to describe God, it would be, love (agape) -- God's unconditional love. "God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him." If we had only one word to describe the entire Bible, it would be love; a love story of God’s love for mankind -- a love letter to mankind.

Love is the only motive accepted by God for working in His Kingdom: “Though I have all spiritual gifts . . . give all my goods to the poor . . . give my body to be burned, and have not love, I am nothing” (1 Cor.. 13:1-3). Just as oxygen is the key element in our natural ecosystem for us to live, God’s perfect love is the key element in the ecosystem of the Kingdom for the spiritual man to grow and be productive. It is the key element required to produce the humility and unity essential for evangelism and miracles, like the first century church in the book of Acts, that shook their known world.
In this book we will discuss some hindrances that obstruct the growth and flow of God’s love in our lives. We will also discuss some of the principles that promote and increase the growth of God’s love in our lives. Some of the amazing benefits and results of the perfect love of God flowing and working in our lives include: humility, unity, forgiveness, reconciliation of relationships, intensified revival and evangelism, love for our neighbor and enemy and especially the brotherhood.
Volume VII
Addendum
PowerPoint Charts for All Books

The Addendum Volume contains the 8.5 X 11 full color copies of the PowerPoint charts supporting the themes and concepts presented in the books series, "I Must Be About My Father's Business."

The purpose of these charts is to provide a graphic image of a concept as a model or "strawman" to initiate and facilitate understanding and discussion of intangible biblical concepts, that are difficult to describe or understand (i.e. relationship with God, transformation of the inner man, dominion in the harvest field and battlefield, the complete man: body / soul / spirit) .

This is a collection of some of the charts I have developed for use in my ministry. They are being published in this first edition “as is” to facilitate the many requests for copies of these PowerPoint charts.
This book of charts is organized with a table of contents grouping the PowerPoint charts into fourteen major subjects. The charts are in two PowerPoint files, one for the portrait charts and one for the landscape charts.

For group teaching, these can be printed on paper, printer transparencies for presentation on an overhead projector or with a computer and multi-media projector.
Spiritual Growth Cycle
Becoming a Book of Acts Christian

The primary purpose and scope of the lesson series in this book are directed and driven by the greatest need and challenge for the born-again believer in these momentous days at the end of the Church Age, just before the coming of Jesus Christ. And that is to attain the spiritual maturity required to operate in the apostolic power, dominion and authority demonstrated in the book of Acts. Only this course of action will combat and overcome the evil and vicious spirit of the Antichrist, rapidly rising in the world today, and empower us to effectively reap the end-time harvest.

This book provides a high-level overview of the spiritual growth principles and concepts described in the other eight books It is presented in a lesson format with key scriptures, text and PowerPoint charts to facilitate teaching.
Some of the foundational biblical concepts included in these books include the following:
Relationship with God (upward focus); Transformation of the Inner Man (inward focus); Dominion in the Harvest Field and Battlefield (outward focus); God’s Agape Love; Humility and Unity; Balanced and Effective Focused Prayer; The Complete Man (body, soul and spirit); Winning Souls (using our dual nature as son of God and son of man); Urgency of the Father’s Business (managing our priorities and activities consistent with our knowledge of the times); Compassion and Care Ministry (attracting, winning, retaining and disciples); Becoming a book of Acts Church (emphasizes the three core ministries identified in Acts 2:42: the Word, Compassion and Care Ministry (serving and ministering to needs), and Prayer.
